Minneriya and Kaudulla national parks are ideal eco-tourism locations in Sri Lanka. The parks lie between forest and the scrubs and is the territory to wildlife such as Sambar Deer, Monkeys and Elephants. The significant attraction of the park is the ancient Minneriya reservoir (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). The reservoir is famous as a sight to watch the Elephants who come to bathe and graze on the grasses along with the flocks of Birds that wing to fish in the shallow waters.
